I love all of God's creatures. Except one, snakes.
I never have.
They give me the heebie-jeebies, the creepy-crawlies, the fits and starts.
I took my nephew to the Knoxville Zoo, (which is an excellent zoo, by the way) to see their snake exhibit. I stood at the end of each portion and he could look and stare to his heart's content. I could keep my eye on him and didn't have to look at any of the snakes.
He asked me why I didn't come look.
I said, "I don't like snakes."
"But why did you come with me?"
"Because I love you."
(As he skipped back to the snakes) "And I love snakes!"
Yes, and that's what makes the world go round.
I tell you that to tell you this:
We had a snake in the yard the other day. I stood cowering and whimpering on the porch.
The other members of my family did not.
Thank goodness for zoom lenses on this camera is all I have to say about that...
